If you are a regular visitor to Cairngorm Mountain the Mountain Railway Summer Season Pass entitles you to unlimited travel on the Funicular. This can either be loaded onto an existing SkiData keycard, or you can collect a new one from the resort at no cost.

The Mountain Railway is open daily (weather permitting), please refer to our Mountain Report for the latest on conditions and any scheduled maintenance periods.

The Mountain Railway runs regularly throughout the day, timing's and the speed of the train may vary depending on the time of year. During the Winter, we run a fast service to get skiers and snowboarders up the mountain quickly. In the Spring, Summer, and Autumn the service will often be slower to allow visitors to enjoy the views on the journey,

The Cairngorm Conservation Plan is currently active so there is no access for Mountain Railway passengers onto the mountain or hillwalking.

Mountain Railway passengers must not have large rucksacks or hiking equipment with them. Dogs are not permitted to travel from the Base Station to the Top Station on the Mountain Railway, with the exception of assistance dogs. Pet dogs can travel down on our railway if visitors have walked up the mountain to the Top Station.
